If you're new to real estate investing - I must warn you
of a dangerous creature that lurks in the shadows of all new investor's
minds - the "Investment
Property Yabutt"! |
|
The Investment Property Yabutt |
Don't Let This Happen To YOU!
Watch for these tell tail signs of a Yabutt attack:
-
You say, "I'd love to have some rental properties making money for me" - the Yabutt say's (in a whiney tone), "Yabutt, how are you going to manage all that? It's tooo muuuch work"!
-
When you talk about preparing for retirement by investing in real estate - the Yabutt may blurt out something like, "Yabutt, you've already got a 401k - and then there's social security".
-
You say, "this looks like a good opportunity to invest in" - the Yabutt cunningly whispers in your ear, "Yabutt where are you going to get the money?"
This list goes on and on...
The sound of this little pest has been plaguing mankind with "analysis
paralysis" since the beginning - Whenever you hear the words "Ya-butt" crossing
your mind - beware of the Yabutt's attack!
Your best line of defense is to first recognize the call of the Yabutt. You may
want to laugh-out-loud at it (Yabutt's hate that) then simply tell it to shut
up!
Next:
-
Do your homework
-
Choose a course of action
-
Take consistent actions (buy something)
-
And ignore the Yabutt!
Beware of the Yabutt's
persistence (especially in the beginning) and hold your ground. Nothing will
EVER HAPPEN if you allow the disease-ridden Yabutt to give you "analysis
paralysis".
You can almost be sure that it will try to attack again when you are ready to
buy your second investment property as well. ("Yabutt, now you've gone waaay too
far!") But hopefully by then you will have developed an immunity!
Just don't listen!
Eventually, by consistently taking action to realize your investing goals, your
healthy constitution will weaken the effects of the Yabutt - and you will find
it returning less and less to harass you over time. Meanwhile your wealth will
increase as you steadily prepare yourself for a comfortable retirement!
